Keep It Simple, Safety: A Recap of Our Annual Safety Summit

Ensuring the well-being of our teams is a top priority at CCS, and this commitment is demonstrated during our annual safety summit. This week-long event brings together all our crews for training to advance their skills and knowledge in various safety protocols for our unique industry. This year’s theme was K.I.S.S, Keep It Simple, Safety. Here is a closer look at the highlights of this year's safety summit!

Day One: First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

The summit kicked off with a crucial focus on life-saving skills. Day one was dedicated to first aid, CPR, and AED training and certification. Our teams engaged in hands-on learning, equipping themselves with the essential tools to respond effectively in emergencies. Each member of our team left confidently certified in keeping their crew safe.

Day Two: Suspended Scaffolding, Competent Person Training with Hansen Scaffolding

On the second day, we were honored to have Chris Page from Hansen Scaffolding join us. Chris gave valuable insights into hi-lo operations and suspended scaffolding competent person training. The knowledge shared during this session contributes to our day-to-day operations, overall safety, and efficiency with our shotcrete liner and exterior concrete crack and repair projects.

Day Three: Aaron Hansen's Competent Person for Frame Scaffolding

Aaron Hansen joined us on the third day, guiding our crews through the erection of frame scaffolding techniques and conducting inspections to ensure safe operations. The afternoon session focused on our shotcrete pump operations with SS&L, further expanding our team's expertise on Putzmeister shotcrete pumps.

Day Four: OSHA 10 Hour and Air Monitor Training

On the fourth day, we blended OSHA 10 Hour training, air monitor training, and fleet maintenance sessions. The training went into air monitoring techniques and importance, and on to DOT compliance. These segments highlighted essential aspects of our workplace safety.

Our annual safety summit serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to the safety of our teams. Through diverse training modules, expert-led sessions, and hands-on learning experiences, we ensure that every member of CCS is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of their unique roles safely. As we look back on a successful safety summit, we also look forward to another year of a culture of safety excellence within our team!

Day Five: Wrapping Up OSHA 10 Hour and Celebrating Success

The final day started with the completion of OSHA 10 Hour training, reinforcing the importance of compliance. The afternoon was dedicated to recognizing and celebrating our teams' hard work and dedication throughout the year.
